This exclusive six-night gorilla trekking safari lets you encounter two beautiful and rare East African primate species: the mountain gorilla and the golden monkey. Your safari starts in Entebbe, Uganda, on the shores of Lake Victoria. From there, you’ll travel by plane to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for your gorilla trekking experience. Waking up early in the morning, you’ll trek on foot to the family group that you have been designated to visit with. Once you encounter the gorillas, you’ll spend a maximum of one hour with them – a rule put in place to ensure sustainable encounters – watching these incredible creatures go about their lives. After the trek you’ll return to your accommodation for a relaxing night, before flying back to Entebbe for the next day. From there, you’ll travel on to Kigali, Rwanda, and then to Volcanoes National Park, a 2.5 hour drive away. At Volcanoes, you’ll have a shorter trek to visit the golden monkeys, a beautiful species that leap above you through bamboo forests. Your accommodation for this safari includes beautiful city hotels, and a stunning tented camp and safari lodge. Please note that this safari is only suitable for those in good physical fitness, as you may have to trek for several hours through dense forest before encountering the gorillas.
